|Isaías 59:1| The Consequence of Sin Certainly, the hand of the Lord is not so short that it cannot save, nor is His ear so dull that it cannot hear.

|Isaías 59:2| But your iniquities have made a separation between you and your God, and your sins have hidden His face from you so that He will not hear.

|Isaías 59:3| For your hands are defiled with blood and your fingers with iniquity; your lips have spoken lies, your tongue has muttered perverseness.

|Isaías 59:4| No one calls for justice, nor does anyone plead for truth. They trust in vanity and speak lies; they conceive mischief and bring forth iniquity.

|Isaías 59:5| They hatch adders’ eggs and weave the spider’s web; he who eats of their eggs dies, and that which is crushed breaks out into a viper.

|Isaías 59:6| Their webs shall not become garments, nor shall they cover themselves with their works; their works are works of iniquity, and an act of violence is in their hands.

|Isaías 59:7| Their feet run to evil, and they make haste to shed innocent blood; their thoughts are thoughts of iniquity; devastation and destruction are in their paths.

|Isaías 59:8| The way of peace they do not know, and there is no justice in their ways; they have made their paths crooked; whoever walks in them does not know peace.

|Isaías 59:9| The Confession of Sin Therefore, justice is far from us, nor does righteousness overtake us; we wait for light, but there is darkness, for brightness, but we walk in gloom.

|Isaías 59:10| We grope along the wall like the blind, and we grope as if we had no eyes; we stumble at noonday as in the night; among those who are vigorous, we are as dead men.
